SWINE ROADSHOW IN THANH HOA, VIETNAM

To support the livestock sector’s transition toward sustainable and biosecure practices, Vietstock — in collaboration with the Vietnam Livestock Association, Thanh Hoa Sub-Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, and the Center for Animal Research, Testing and Services under the Thanh Hoa Institute of Agriculture — is organising a technical roadshow series under the theme:

SWINE PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT AND DISEASE PREVENTION STRATEGY FOR OPTIMAL GROWTH & PROFITABILITY

Thanh Hoa 2025: Transforming the Swine Farming Sector

In 2025, Thanh Hoa’s swine farming industry is undergoing a significant transformation, shifting toward large-scale production models, high-tech applications, and stringent biosecurity standards. Numerous modern farms have been strategically invested in and are operating with closed-loop systems, enabling optimal productivity and effective disease control.

In Q1/2025, Thanh Hoa sold approximately 480,000 pigs, generating around VND 3,600 billion in revenue and VND 720 billion in profit. For the full year, the total production value of the swine sector is expected to reach VND 12,000 billion. The province maintains a herd of about 1.3 million pigs, raised across 588 farms and over 88,000 households, with an annual live pork output of approximately 185,000 tons.

Live swine prices have remained high in the early months of the year (VND 70,000–80,000/kg), creating favorable conditions for producers to restock herds, boost profitability, and scale up operations.

Alongside these growth opportunities, the sector continues to face notable challenges, including environmental pressures, the relocation of small-scale farms out of residential areas, and recurring risks of infectious diseases such as African swine fever and foot-and-mouth disease.

In response, Thanh Hoa is prioritizing the development of a modern and sustainable swine farming industry — gradually establishing closed value chains, strengthening disease prevention capabilities, and enhancing overall sector resilience and output value.

Swine Livestock Roadshow

Aimed at connecting industry stakeholders and sharing practical solutions to enhance production efficiency and disease prevention, the swine farming seminar series serves as a valuable platform for government agencies, experts, and businesses across the livestock sector.

To keep pace with the sector’s modernization and strengthen disease management, Vietstock — in collaboration with Animal Husbandry Association in Vietnam (AHAV), Sub-department of Livestock and Animal Health, Thanh Hoa, and Livestock Research, Testing and Services Center, Thanh Hoa Agricultural Institute — is organising this swine roadshow under the theme:

Swine Production Management and Disease Prevention Strategy for Optimal Growth & Profitability

  • Time: 08:30 – 12:00, Aug 05, 2025
  • Venue: Sao Mai 1 Conference Hall, Sao Mai Hotel, No. 20 Phan Chu Trinh Street, Dien Bien Ward, Thanh Hoa City

Workshop agenda includes:

  1. Overview of Swine Production in Vietnam – Challenges & Opportunities

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son | Vice President – Animal Husbandry Association in Vietnam (AHAV)

  1. Current status and solutions for swine production management and disease prevention

Master Luong Xuan Vu | Deputy Director – Sub-department of Livestock and Animal Health, Thanh Hoa

  1. Approaches to biosecurity in swine farming and circular farming for sustainable livestock development

Master Le Tran Thai | Livestock Research, Testing and Services Center, Thanh Hoa Agricultural Institute

The roadshow focuses on three key topics to provide a comprehensive overview of the swine industry in Thanh Hoa, including: identifying overall opportunities and challenges; assessing the current situation and proposing solutions for production management and disease prevention at the local level; and introducing biosecure, circular farming models aimed at promoting sustainable development in the province’s swine sector.

This is a valuable opportunity for businesses, farmers and industry experts to connect, exchange expertise, and explore practical solutions to enhance productivity, mitigate risks, and drive sustainable growth in Thanh Hoa’s swine industry.

Practical Solutions from Industry Leader

TVOne Vietnam JSC, founded in 2019, is committed to clean and sustainable livestock farming through antibiotic-free solutions. With strong expertise and proven experience, TVOne introduces Gapico —an antibiotic alternative, helping to control and treat diarrhea caused by bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, Lawsonia intracellularis, Brachyspira, etc., in piglets and weaners. It also promotes growth, increases ADG, and reduces FCR.
