Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance at Vietstock 2025

  22/08/2025

Vietnam’s Antimicrobial Resistance Landscape

Vietnam’s livestock sector is facing a growing threat from antimicrobial resistance (AMR), mainly caused by the misuse and overuse of antibiotics. At the farm level, especially among smallholders, the lack of veterinarians, limited alternatives, and weak biosecurity mean many farmers still rely heavily on antibiotics to prevent disease, often buying them from unregulated sources.

This situation shows the urgent need to improve monitoring, strengthen law enforcement, and give farmers more support to reduce antimicrobial resistance, protect animal health, and ensure food safety.

Antimicrobial Resistance Forum: From Policies to Practices – Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance Together

Following the success of the Biosecurity Asia Forum in Vietstock 2024 and Antimicrobial Resistance Forum at Philippines livestock 2025, Informa Markets will host the Antimicrobial Resistance Forum at Vietstock 2025.

This important forum being held in Vietstock for the first time,  will serve as a pivotal platform for industry leaders to exchange insights, explore practical, science-driven solutions, and collaborate in addressing one of the most urgent challenges in animal agriculture.  It will also give Vietnam’s households and businesses valuable, hands-on knowledge to help them adopt better practices and avoid the common pitfalls that have contributed to antimicrobial resistance.

AMR forum will be held under the theme: “Antimicrobial Resistance Forum: From Policies to Practices – Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance Together.” The forum is designed to foster collaboration and drive actionable strategies that align with international efforts to mitigate AMR.

The AMR forum will be held on October 9, 2025, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). The forum will focus on turning awareness into actionable solutions across industries through expert presentations and discussions, based on the programme below:
