SWINE ROADSHOW IN HO CHI MINH CITY

  10/08/2026

Organised annually across key livestock-producing provinces nationwide, the Livestock Roadshow Series serves as a pre-event activity of VIETSTOCK– Vietnam’s Premier International Feed, Livestock, Animal Health & Meat Industry Show . The series provides a platform for knowledge sharing, practical experience exchange, and fostering business collaboration among businesses, industry experts, and livestock community in the lead-up to the Vietstock 2026.

The swine roadshow under the topic “Swine Health and Production Management Towards Sustainability” will take place in Ho Chi Minh City (former Binh Duong Province), which feature the latest trends in biosecurity, herd health monitoring, and modern breeding management, with an aim to driving the safe and sustainable development of the swine industry.

SWINE INDUSTRY IN HO CHI MINH CITY (FORMER BINH DUONG PROVINCE): ADVANCING HIGH-TECH FARMING TOWARD SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

In 2025, Binh Duong ranked second in the Southeast region and fifth nationwide in terms of the number of agricultural farms, with more than 90% of its total livestock and poultry herds raised under farm-based production systems. Accordingly, the local swine industry is experiencing strong growth toward large-scale production, high-tech applications, and biosecurity, contributing to driving steady and sustainable growth. The province’s total swine herd reached over 974,000 heads, including 259 high-tech farms, reinforcing Binh Duong’s position as one of the key swine-producing areas in southern Vietnam. Alongside expanding production scale, Binh Duong continues to promote the transformation of livestock farming toward industrialisation, closed-loop system, and environmentally friendly production through the adoption of high technologies, enhanced biosecurity measures, disease control, and the development of circular farming models. At the same time, the province encourages value chain-based development, linking production, slaughtering, processing, and consumption to enhance competitiveness and product value.

Under its development plan through 2030, Binh Duong aims to maintain a total swine herd of 750.000-800.000 heads, with more than 70% of the herd raised under high-tech farming application. In parallel, the province targets having over 90% of its swine population raised in concentrated farms, with 30% of farms certified Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP) and at least 40% recognised as disease-free livestock establishments. These targets will lay  the foundation for Binh Duong to further develop its swine industry toward modern, safe, efficient, and sustainable production, meeting domestic market demand while gradually strengthening the industry’s competitiveness.
