Why can products containing the same amoxicillin active ingredient not always be used in the same way?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A common mistake in practice is to look only at the name of the active ingredient and assume that different products are equivalent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In reality, the name <\/span><b>amoxicillin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> identifies only the main active ingredient.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A veterinary medicinal product is also defined by factors such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strength or concentration;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dosage form;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excipients;<\/span><\/li>\n<li veterinary medicines must never be used in humans.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>How is amoxicillin combined with clavulanic acid different?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One common mechanism of amoxicillin resistance is the production of <\/span><b>beta-lactamase<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an enzyme that can inactivate the beta-lactam structure of the antibiotic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some products are formulated as:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Amoxicillin + clavulanic acid<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:
